Façade renovation and addition.

Originally constructed in 1979, the building complex at Ruppertstraße 11-19 underwent an extensive renovation in 2018. The renovation consisted of adding another floor, reworking the façade, as well as two new building entrances.

In partnership with Steidle Architects, a facade consisting of anodized aluminum element frames was created, encasing the existing building and the addition of a steel structure.

Beginning in 2019, the KVR was expanded through two new entrances, and underwent an extensive interior renovation. This project was also executed in cooperation with Steidle Architects.

A total of over 13.000.000 ft² of facade elements were installed, they all received an operable element for night cooling, external venetian blinds for sun protection, as well as concealed drainage and aluminum frames. Floor-to-ceiling facade elements were installed in the scope of work.

The particular challenge of this project was to carry out the renovation of the façade and add an entire story (950.000 ft² floor area) to the district administration department while the building was still in operation and full office use. For reference the building is frequented by several thousand visitors every day.
